2008 Summit Summary
The 5th Action on Obesity Summit was hosted by Mayo Clinic, Rochester, and co-hosted by the American College of Sports Medicine and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology on October 16 and 17, 2008. This year's summit was titled: "The Obesity Epidemic - An Action Focus On: Individuals, Populations at Risk, Health Policy, and Establishing an Action on Obesity Clearinghouse."
The event was held at the Marriott Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota. The primary summit objective was to integrate the knowledge and awareness of individuals, students, parents, health care providers, citizens, organizational representatives, and other influencers of policy into effective, sustainable action on obesity.
